I hope you find you well and that you are enjoying many blessings bestowed on your life by our wonderful Heavenly Father.
As believers, we have all been blessed with the provision of talents and gifts from a loving God who dearly cares for our needs on a daily basis.
Some of us have been blessed with the gift of playing a musical instrument that we can use in the church worship group, it may be the gift of praying for others then why not join the church Prayer Team.
If you have a nice smile and can talk to people then why not join my Welcome Team.
If you can make a nice cup of coffee, join the Refreshments Team.
I have learnt that I have been really blessed with the gift of encouragement and enjoy spending much of my time trying to bless others whether that be through phone calls, texts, sending greeting cards or offering prayer for other people. Even as a very bashful person, lacking in self-confidence, God has placed me as leader of the Welcome Team for a reason and I have grown in recent years and can now talk with people more readily than I could in the past and bless other people in abundance without even realising it at the time. Even as a single person, recently, I, have been also able to spend time developing my passion for Jesus and thinking of others before myself.
Some people have abilities that are not particularly beneficial like spending time in gossip or talking about other people. If this is the case cultivate the gift of listening and use the two ears God has given you in proportion to the one tongue/mouth. The wisest people I have come across in life, say little and don’t let their lips run wild. Anyone can spend time gossiping about others, remember wisdom is defined more by saying less as we are reminded in the Old Testament Book of Proverbs on many occasions.
Remember that God gave you gifts and expects you to use them If you wait until you can do it perfectly you will never do it at all. If you are not sure what your talents are, ask God to reveal them to you or ask your best friend, you mother or your father they will give you an honest answer as they know you better than anyone else!!
As I see you you have three choices to make in terms of your talents, First, you can ignore them, This will leave you unfulfilled and disconnected from God’s plan.
Secondly, you can use them to advance your own goals or agenda because you will be naturally good in certain areas or finally you can put them to their intended use and glorify God. As you read and obey God’s Word, you will begin to understand your gifts and using your talents will help you discover your distinctive role among God’s people and give deep satisfaction.
